Welcome to my blog! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Chris LeCrone. I’m a marketing student at Bradley University, and this blog is the result of a little nudge (okay, requirement) from my Social Media Marketing class.
At first, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this assignment, but as I’ve thought about it more, the idea of sharing my thoughts and experiences as a creative has grown on me. Let’s face it - sometimes journaling can be therapeutic, and putting my process into words might even help me grow...
Before we dive in, let me give you a quick intro to who I am. Just kidding... This blog isn’t about my life story... It’s about my journey as a photographer and videographer within my business, exploring the messy, unpredictable, and exciting process of creating something "meaningful".
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my career so far, it’s this: there’s no single "right" way to do creative work. Whether you're behind the camera, working in post-production, or brainstorming the next big idea, creativity is anything but planned. Sure, there are technical skills and frameworks you need to learn, but creativity thrives on experimentation, perspective, and intuition.
Take photography and videography, for example. Two people can stand in the exact same spot with the exact same gear, and their results will still look completely different. Why? Because creativity is personal. It's about how you see the world, the emotion you want to capture, and how you choose to tell the story. Some of my best work has come from moments when I ditched the plan, ignored the rules, and just let my instincts guide me.
This blog will serve as a window into my creative process. More specifically what inspires me, and the challenges I face. DISCLAIMER: I wont be giving you all of my secret sauce. But I’ll share insights from my work, tips I’ve picked up along the way, and maybe even some behind-the-scenes stories. If you’re here for polished perfection, you might be in the wrong place. But if you’re curious about the real, unfiltered process of making things, stick around.
At the end of the day, creativity isn’t about being perfect - it’s about being authentic. And while I definitely don’t have all the answers, I’m excited to share my journey with you as I keep learning and evolving.
You mentioned it above, but I'm drawn in and want to read more by how authentically yourself this feels.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this blog will be interesting because I follow the creative work done by Chris Lecrone Media and it is very high-quality photography. I will be following closely in the future!
