EP2
(Warning, this may be boring.)
This past week, I wrapped up another commercial project. The project was a 15 and 30 second TV commercial for Strong Law Office that aired during the Grammys on CBS and will also play locally during the Super Bowl locally on channels and streaming services. Seeing something I created on television is super cool, but getting there took a ton of planning, execution, and attention to detail.
It all started with a phone call from Todd's secretary, as they really liked my style when searching for a video production company. Todd and Becky his secretary were a pleasure to work with, giving me ideas but ultimately giving me full reign over my creative abilities.
Story boarding and scripting took the most time for this project, making sure we captured Todd's presence as a "superhero" attorney. I brought in one of my contractors for lighting and a second hand for filming... From there, we planned a mix of handheld shots for a cinematic, personal feel and of course, my favorite, drone shots to showcase his influence across Peoria from an aerial perspective. We filmed him in action driving through the city, meeting with clients, and taking charge in his office, with a little Bruce Wayne (Batman) feel to it. This is all designed to reinforce his brand and convey his message.
Post-production was just as important. I brought in a professional voice actor to deliver the script with confidence, and after a few revisions, we felt we nailed it. Along with this work, we developed a full logo package and motion graphics to give the commercial a polished, high-end look. The final product ended out being proper and had the professional feel we were going for.
Seeing it air is always cool. This project reminded me why I love what I do... bringing a vision to life and helping my clients get the results they are looking for. Now, onto the next one.
See the 15 Second version attached below.
Chris, this is super cool! I saw this ad while watching the Grammy's and I had no idea. It's really cool to hear from you about your creative process. I appreciated the "superhero" storyline as it was pretty comical. What a great opportunity for you, I can't wait to see it again during the Superbowl.
